A 2nd Grade Pirate's Survival Kit SY09-10
Welcome to 2nd Grade! It is an exciting time and maybe a little scary – even for the teacher! We put together this “Survival Kit” to help you get ready for this year. Take a few minutes to have mom or dad tell you about the special meaning of the items in the bag and tell them how you feel about starting 2nd grade. We look forward to getting to know you. We have lots to learn and do together this school year!

Welcome Parents of SY 2009-2010!
Welcome to a NEW and EXCITING School Year here at San Vicente Elementary School. We are looking forward to having your child in our 2nd Grade class. We believe that what happens in class will affect your child’s future.
This year, we begin our theme with “Pirates in the Classroom” Why? Because it’s fun! It breeds creativity, creativity breeds curiosity, and curiosity is the foundation of learning. The children will also be reminded that although pirates are, in fact, bad people the class will be celebrating more of the spirit of adventure.
I would like to take a moment to briefly introduce myself. My name is Kathy Lalaine D. Pagapular. I hold a degree in Elementary Education. I love the outdoors especially playing soccer, hiking, diving, and running. I also enjoy playing the ukulele.
This fall semester, we are very fortunate to have Ms. Annamarie Guerrero as our student teacher. When not busy with school work, Ms. Anna loves spending time with her son. She feels that all students in the CNMI deserve the best that education has to offer and strives to give nothing but the best to the students.
We both believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year, we will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, class newsletters, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences. We also have a class blog www.canaryfeather.blogspot.com. I encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s welfare. You may call us at school (237-3817).
We have a fantastic group of children in this class. We are looking forward to a terrific year ahead. With your help we can make this happen.

Tiny Irish men and a Pot of Gold
If I had a pot of gold I would trade the gold for many money and when I have the money all scattered in a pile. I would throw it like rain! I would also melt the gold and make a gold sculpture, like a GOLD ANGEL instead of a Snow Angel. If I had a pot of gold I would make Ms. Kathy a real golden tiara and make her golden slippers. -Isa Rabago
